On 16 August, an exhibition Kharkiv by Skovoroda in Portraits and Cityscapes will open under the auspices of the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation. During the exhibition, which is absolutely free of charge, visitors will be able to see engravings and drawings of hitherto unknown landscapes of Kharkiv in the 18th century.
For instance, visitors will be able to see a panorama of Kharkiv in 1759. This is exactly what the famous Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda had in mind during his first visit to the city. Besides, it will be possible to see how the wooden St Nicholas Church looked like at that time, which no one has ever seen before. The exhibition will also show the Kharkiv tavern and Sunday market.
Three artists - Artem Pohribnyi, Pavlo Shchukin and Artem Lazutin - prepared the expositions for the exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public at the Heinrich Semiradsky Art Gallery, 6 Maidan Svobody, Kharkiv. The entrance is free of charge from Tuesday to Saturday from 12 PM to 6 PM.
