The book «Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko: from Osnova to Kharkiv» was published at the initiative of the Denys Paramonov Foundation in August 2023 to mark the 180th anniversary of the death of the outstanding Ukrainian playwright. In November 2023, the 245th anniversary of Hryhorii Fedorovych’s birth was celebrated.

The book, authored by a well-known Kharkiv journalist and local historian Andrii Paramonov, tells about little-known facts from the life of Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko, and is filled with a variety of unique photo illustrations.

After the presentation of the book «Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko: from Osnova to Kharkiv» in major cities of Ukraine, it aroused great interest among connoisseurs of the playwright’s work. So, for a start, the Denys Paramonov Foundation distributed free copies of the book to the country’s libraries as part of the program «100 Books for 100 Libraries of Ukraine». Moreover, many copies were sent to libraries located in the de-occupied territories and to settlements located near the demarcation line where many IDPs live, as well.

However, despite such a step from the Foundation, interest in the book is only increasing. So, we decided to publish the book «Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko: from Osnova to Kharkiv» in electronic form on Denys Paramonov Foundation website. Now the book is available to everyone.
