The spring equator is crossed! April itself was very productive for the good deeds done by the Denys Paramonov Foundation.
As part of the HEALTHY programme, the Foundation donated modern surgical equipment to the Grigoriev Institute for Medical Radiology and Oncology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The equipment will enable surgeons to perform more precise and safer operations, making their hard work easier.
As in previous months, the Foundation continued to focus on training people in tactical medicine, because knowing the basics of first aid can help save lives in critical situations. In April, employees of kindergartens and educational institutions from various districts of Kharkiv attended courses in tactical medicine. SMK Group employees also took first aid courses. They all received certificates and are now able to provide quality first aid in case of emergency.
As always, the Foundation has been very productive in developing its sports activities. For instance, a training camp for 15 children from Kharkiv and Bila Tserkva was held at the rowing base in Bila Tserkva, giving the youngsters an opportunity to train actively and gain new experiences - a great start to the season for young athletes. The Foundation also donated everything necessary for football training to the children of the village of Shchaslyve. Previously, it had built a football pitch here and completely renovated the Palace of Culture, where local children have all the conditions for creative development. The SMK-SPORT club has been strengthened by experienced boxers Hanna Okhota and Yuliia Stupakova. SMK-SPORT athletes also took part in the Ukrainian Junior Boxing Championship. Thanks to the Foundation, Hanna Okhota and Khrystyna Yushchuk underwent an effective training camp in Koncha Zaspa for their upcoming competitions. In turn, the SMK-SPORT boxing team won 14 gold and 2 silver medals at the Olympic Hopes tournament in Balakliya.
Artem Brantsyra, who is fully supported by the Foundation, won gold at the European Kickboxing Championships in Malta. In addition, our champion took part in the French Boxing Championships in Odesa, where he won first place in the 70kg category.
Among the socially significant initiatives carried out by the Foundation in April, we can highlight the assistance provided to children from the border community of Bohodukhiv district, namely sending them to Malta for rehabilitation. We also helped to equip a cafeteria for an underground school in the Osnovyanskyi district of Kharkiv, which will significantly improve the comfort of children in the educational institution.
On the eve of Easter, the Foundation contributed to the festive decoration of Kharkiv with themed installations that brought extraordinary emotions to the residents and visitors of Kharkiv.
In April, the exemplary dance ensemble 'Surprise', supported by the Foundation, celebrated its 10th anniversary. During the gala concert, the young talents of the ensemble, which has won numerous awards since its inception, once again captured the hearts of the audience.
And last but not least. Thanks to the Foundation's support, the Kharkiv State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mykola Lysenko presented an innovative opera-cabaret 'Taras Shevchenko. Journey in time'. This is a unique premiere dedicated to the 210th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's birth, which provides an opportunity to see the great Ukrainian poet from a completely different perspective, namely his inner experiences as an ordinary person.
