Thanks to stage director, Honored Artist of Ukraine Armen Kaloyan, the production presents the opera’s characters to the audience without any masks.
They convey their raw emotions and fears, while the storyline itself offers a deeper understanding of the power of love, the true cost of choice, and clearly reveals the boundary between humanity and fanaticism.
A genuine sensation was also created by the stage design by set designer Maksym Rozenfeld, which further enhanced the impact of an already highly emotional performance.
Additional refinement was brought by the leading cast, including Honored Artist of Ukraine Tamara Harmash, international competition laureate Mykyta Marynchak, diploma recipient of an international competition Serhii Ledeniov, and many others.
The choir and ballet ensemble completed the emotional depth of the production. Finally, special attention should be given to the performance of the Kharkiv Opera Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yurii Yakovenko.
