The day before, in the garden of the Kharkiv Literary Museum, the book ‘Skovoroda in the City of Wisdom Zacharpolis’, published on the direct initiative of the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation, was presented to the fans of the Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda.
The author of the book is Andrii Paramonov, a well-known Kharkiv researcher of the history of Slobozhanshchyna.
Representatives of Kharkiv libraries attended the presentation. They will receive copies of the book about Skovoroda for their libraries.
The book was published on the occasion of the 370th anniversary of the foundation of Kharkiv and the 230th anniversary of the death of Hryhorii Skovoroda.
It tells everything about Kharkiv in the 18th century, including where Skovoroda lived, where he used to go, as well as with whom he did business and socialized.
Incidentally, all the pictures of the unknown Kharkiv of Skovoroda's time that appear in the book are also presented in the exhibition ‘Kharkiv by Skovoroda in Portraits and Cityscapes’.
The exhibition is open until 14 September from Tuesday to Saturday from 12 PM to 6 PM at the Heinrich Semiradsky Art Gallery, 6 Maidan Svobody, Kharkiv.
