Denys Paramonov Foundation presents festive programme with gifts to children on St Nicholas Day in Horkoho village, Kharkiv region
The Denys Paramonov Foundation organized a real festive atmosphere for St Nicholas Day in the Palace of Culture in the village of Horkoho, Kharkiv region. Children came not only from the village of Horkoho, but also from the surrounding villages of Kadnytsia, Vertiivka, Ripky, Krupchino and Sazono-Balanivka. In total, more than 200 children came to the Palace of Culture, including many from other regions who moved to Kharkiv region with their parents to escape the danger. The children enjoyed an entertaining performance with interactive competitions performed by actors from the Timur Children's Theatre.
“In addition to a great festive atmosphere, all the children received beautiful St Nicholas Day gifts and lots of sweets. For many children, such festive programmes are almost the only way to plunge into a fairy tale and escape from the problems of everyday life” - in the Denys Paramonov Foundation noted.
Recently, Volodymyr Koliy, the coach of the children's football team 'Alpha' of Shevchenkivska Hromada in Kupiansk region, contacted the Denys Paramonov Foundation. A year and a half ago, he created a football section in order to distract children from today's problems. Actually, there are a lot of difficulties in the Kupiansk region. At the beginning, only 15 children attended the football section, now there are 65 of them. The pupils of the section take part in friendly tournaments in Kharkiv and have even travelled to Spain and Poland.
“In an appeal to the Foundation, coach Volodymyr Koliy asked us to help develop his section. So, we were happy to respond to this request by presenting the section with sports equipment for training, including footballs, worth more than 45,000 UAH on St Nicholas Day. We also brought a charging station to light up the gym where the children train,” - in the Foundation noted.
Finally, the children received sweets and watched a festive performance by actors from the Timur Children's Theatre to keep their spirits up.
Representatives of the Denys Paramonov Foundation visited the village of Hroza to congratulate local children on St Nicholas Day. The village of Hroza is home to around 50 children, including many orphans as a result of the tragedy that occurred there last autumn.
“We asked the children beforehand what they would like to receive for St Nicholas Day. Older boys asked for fishing rods and tool kits so they could do some craft work. Girls wanted hair curlers and various cosmetics. Younger boys asked for cars and construction kits, while girls asked for dolls. All children received individual gifts for the holiday. We also gave them sweets,”- in the Foundation noted.
Finally, actors from the Timur Children's Theatre gave a festive performance to keep the children of Hroza village in a festive mood.
