A great deal was accomplished in the medical field. Thanks to philanthropist Denys Paramonov, state-of-the-art equipment has been installed at the Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kyiv. This includes syringe pumps that precisely measure doses for intravenous infusions, as well as protective X-ray glasses that safeguard surgeons and medical staff during procedures involving radiation exposure. In addition, the Foundation provided the Center with specialized operating-room furniture.

The equipment, worth approximately 250,000 UAH, is already helping treat more patients and protect doctors during surgeries, significantly improving the quality of medical services at the Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.

In December, philanthropist Denys Paramonov was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the Bohodukhiv City Territorial Community. The distinction was personally presented to the benefactor by Bohodukhiv Mayor Volodymyr Bielyi. The City Council emphasized that Denys Paramonov consistently supports and develops the community’s infrastructure and a wide range of social initiatives.

Employees of SMK Group also underwent cardiology medical check-ups thanks to the Foundation’s program. Socially responsible businesses prioritize the health of their employees and ensure they receive regular preventive medical examinations.

Besides, the Foundation supplied St. Zinaida Children’s Clinical Hospital in Sumy with state-of-the-art medical equipment. An automatic dioptometer and a retinoscope will help treat children with visual impairments, as since February 24, 2022, the number of patients with vision problems at the hospital has tripled.

The Foundation gave children warm emotions and unforgettable experiences for St. Nicholas Day — memories that will keep them inspired throughout the New Year holidays. Children from the village of Shchaslyve attended a fantasy fairy tale performance at the “Tymur” Theatre in Kharkiv. The Foundation took full responsibility for organizing the event, including transportation in comfortable buses from Shchaslyve to Kharkiv and back.

In Mykolaiv, thanks to the Foundation, children whose parents are in captivity attended the play “The Dyed Fox” at the Mykolaiv Academic Art Drama Theatre. The young players of the Alpha children’s football team received an air hockey table as a gift from the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation. The Foundation is a sponsor of this youth club and provides ongoing support to the young footballers.

In addition, the children received tasty holiday gifts from the Foundation for the New Year celebrations.

A New Year miracle was organized especially for children from the village of Shchaslyve. At the local Palace of Culture, which was renovated with the support of the Foundation, children immersed themselves in a festive fairy tale. Talents were showcased on stage by young athletes from the SMK-SPORT sports club, as well as by the “Surprise” dance ensemble. In addition, the winners of the competition for the best winter-themed drawing were announced. Certainly, the children received delicious New Year gifts.

Many events took place in the sporting life of SMK-SPORT teams. For instance, boxers from the SMK-SPORT club won 12 medals at tournaments in December, 8 of which were gold. SMK-SPORT clubs in Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, the village of Shchaslyve, and Sumy are funded by the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation.

We also have great news — Marina Shevchenko, a champion of various national boxing competitions, has joined the “SMK-SPORT” club. The boxer will take a worthy place within the team of like-minded athletes.

We helped organize a football tournament at the “Vostok” Youth Sports School in Kharkiv, which brought together the best young footballers from the Kharkiv region. The New Year tournament “Unbreakable Children of Kharkiv” takes place annually, and for the second year in a row, the Foundation has been assisting in its organization.

The handball players of the “Halychanka” club, sponsored by the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation, won all 14 matches in the Ukrainian Championship. The club confidently holds first place in the tournament standings. Additionally, children from the “J.O.Y.” football club in the Odesa region, also sponsored by the Foundation, won medals in competitions within Odesa Region.

Libraries in Ukraine and abroad received over a thousand books published through the Foundation’s initiative. These include, in particular, “Muravskyi Way,” which tells the story of the legendary route from south to north in the 16th–18th centuries. We also had the honor of sending a copy of “Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko: From Osnova to Kharkiv” to the head of the United Kingdom’s Library Association. This was done in response to a personal request from Isobel Hunter, Director of Libraries Connected. Other international libraries, for example in Poland, also received copies of our books.

The choreographic ensemble “Surprise”, sponsored in part by the Foundation, won the Grand Prix at an International Festival. The ensemble’s students captivated not only the judges but also the audience with their performance.

The Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation supports organizing activities for children in Mykolaiv whose parents are in captivity. In December, the children learned to make Belgian waffles under the guidance of experienced chefs. In addition, screenings of animated films on a large screen were arranged for the children, after which the young viewers could discuss the movies they watched.
