Several athletes from the SMK-SPORT club won multiple gold medals at the European Dragon Boat Championships. The club operates in Bila Tserkva and brings together athletes from different cities across Ukraine. The school was revived and is fully funded by the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation.
Competing as members of the Ukrainian national team, the club’s athletes delivered an outstanding performance. Illia Kuzmenchuk, Nikodym Kaliberda, Yan Kucheriavenko, and Oleksii Mazei became European champions in the D-22 Open U-18 class.
The girls achieved even greater success. Nikole Matnenko won four gold medals, claiming victories in the women’s crew events over 200 metres, 500 metres, and 2 kilometres, as well as in the mixed crew event over 2 kilometres in the twenty-person boat class.
Sofia Orda won three gold medals, becoming the best in the mixed crew ten-person boat class over the 200-metre, 500-metre, and 2-kilometre distances.
“We congratulate the athletes and coaches on their outstanding performance at the most prestigious European Dragon Boat rowing event! We wish them new victories and even greater sporting achievements,” the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation noted.
