In the first month of autumn, much attention was given to the sports activities of the Foundation. The trainees of the rowing school in Bila Tserkva achieved a series of victories at the Kyiv Region Championship, as well as winning 15 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze medals at the Kyiv Region Cup. In September, the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation, which finances the rowing school in Bila Tserkva, provided young athletes with new boats for training.
The Foundation also acted as the general sponsor of the All-Ukrainian Wakeboarding Competition, ensuring it was held at the highest level. The winners of the tournament donated their prize money to purchase a special training chair for the rehabilitation of people with amputations and other forms of inclusivity. In addition, the SMK team won prizes at the European Canoe Sports Championship.
The football club “NIKA SMK” from Bohodukhiv achieved three victories out of three in September at the Kharkiv Region Football Championship. The team, whose president is philanthropist Denys Paramonov, currently leads the tournament table.
The young athletes of the boxing clubs “SMK-SPORT,” fully funded by the Foundation, also delivered excellent results. Boxer Hanna Okhota reached the quarterfinals of the World Championship, demonstrating powerful boxing. Meanwhile, boxer Yulia Stupakova represents Ukraine as part of the national team at the European Championship. Young boxers of “SMK-SPORT” won several victories at competitions in Izium. At the same time, enrollment continues at the “SMK-SPORT” clubs, where training is completely free of charge.
The handball club “Halychanka” started its season in the Polish Super League and the Ukrainian Championship, securing its first victories. The multiple-time champions of Ukraine are sponsored by the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation.
Representatives of the SMK Distribution team also took prize-winning places during the marathon in Odesa.
As part of the “SVOI” program, employees of SMK Group completed tactical medicine courses organized by the Foundation. They now know how to provide first aid in critical situations before rescuers or medical professionals arrive.
The Foundation also joined the opening of the Regional Office of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in Mykolaiv. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Foundation and the Coordination Center. The main task of this cooperation is to work with the families of people currently held in captivity. In addition, the Foundation provides psychological and emotional support for the children of prisoners of war, organizing free excursions and various workshops for them.
Borys Todurov, General Director of the “Heart Institute,” emphasized the crucial support provided by the Foundation, noting that thanks to the donated equipment, patients’ lives are saved every day. Last year, the Foundation and SMK Group allocated nearly 5 million UAH to purchase high-value equipment for the Institute, including a Japanese-made video gastroscope and video bronchoscope. Such devices are used in the best clinics across Europe.
Within the framework of the #CREATIVE programme, the Foundation participated in the International Scientific Library Conference. The Foundation also presented the book “Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko: From Osnova to Kharkiv,” which was published with its support, to the Director of the UK Libraries Connected association, Isabel Hunter, who personally requested it.
The new season also opened at the Kharkiv Opera, with the Foundation acting as a partner of the theater. The first performance of the season gathered many art enthusiasts.
The choreographic ensemble “Surprise,” supported by the Foundation, won the Grand Prix at the International Arts Festival-Contest “Shine of the Nation.”
We also continue the project #GuidesOfGoodness on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation. Through it, we highlight true Ukrainians who contribute every day to the development of our Homeland.
