The open boxing tournament in memory of M. Kolesnyk recently concluded in Sumy, gathering young talents from across the region.
The tournament was initiated by the ‘SMK-SPORT’ boxing club, which is fully funded by the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation.
More than 90 participants from Sumy, Kharkiv, and Trostianets took part in the event.
Boxers from ‘SMK-SPORT’ Kharkiv won four gold medals in intense ring battles, while athletes from ‘SMK-SPORT’ Sumy brought home three golds and one silver.
“We congratulate the young athletes of ‘SMK-SPORT’ on another strong performance at this major tournament held in Sumy. The competition was dedicated to the memory of ‘SMK-SPORT’ trainee Matvii Kolesnyk, who sadly passed away last year at the age of nine due to a serious illness. On this special day, the best young boxers from two regions paid tribute to his memory by delivering an unforgettable display of skill. Tournaments like this are crucial for children’s growth as athletes, and we will continue to support such events moving forward.” - representatives of the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation said.
