Denys Paramonov Funds the Opening of Sensory Rooms at Kharkiv’s Children’s Rehabilitation Center “Hippocrates”
Two modern sensory rooms have been opened at the Center for Children’s Rehabilitation and Palliative Care “Hippocrates” in Kharkiv. The Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation provided the funding for their opening. This will help improve the provision of modern rehabilitation services for children.
Every year, the Center for Children’s Rehabilitation and Palliative Care “Hippocrates” provides assistance to more than 800 children with disabilities and developmental delays. Children from Kharkiv Region as well as children from the country’s temporarily occupied territories receive rehabilitation there.
The Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation fully funded the purchase of all the necessary equipment for the sensory rooms, including a frame dry ball pit, a corner bubble tube, a sensory colored light mosaic wall, a sensory jellyfish, and a light therapy shower. An air conditioner and two laptops for the mobile palliative care team were also purchased for the large sensory room. The laptops allow the mobile palliative care team to conduct functional diagnostics at home for seriously ill patients.
“It is difficult even to imagine the challenges faced by parents of children with disabilities or developmental delays. It is at the ‘Hippocrates’ Center that these children can receive highly qualified care,” said philanthropist and founder of the eponymous charity foundation Denys Paramonov. “We have been supporting ‘Hippocrates’ for many years so that children’s rehabilitation can be modern. The sensory rooms will help children integrate into their environment more quickly, which is very important not only for the children themselves but also for their parents.”
According to Roman Marabyan, director of the Center for Children’s Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care “Hippocrates”, various methods are used around the world to provide comprehensive rehabilitation for children.
“One of these methods of children’s rehabilitation is sensory integration. We have long dreamed of opening two sensory rooms, and we have achieved this thanks to the support of the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation. We are very grateful and happy! The children’s parents and our entire team sincerely thank the Foundation for helping us make our shared dream come true,” said Roman Marabyan.
It will be recalled that the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation previously renovated a shelter at the Center for Children’s Rehabilitation and Palliative Care “Hippocrates”. The Foundation also helped equip an X-ray room at the facility.

The Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation supported the publication of a photo album dedicated to the history and present-day Kharkiv
The project was created by Gabriel Mykhailov, historian and researcher of the city’s history Maksym Rosenfeld, and photographer Volodymyr Bysov. The photo album «Kharkiv — Hero City» was published in a print run of 1,000 copies. As part of its Cultural_Code program, the Foundation allocated 100,000 UAH for these purposes.
