The Denys Paramonov Foundation visited two de-occupied villages in Izium district. We are talking about villages of Zavody and Spivakivka.
The village of Zavody suffered particularly during the occupation, as it was virtually destroyed. The buildings of the village council, the village club and the post office were destroyed. Two shops were also ruined, leaving the locals with nowhere to buy anything. The situation with drinking water is very difficult - it has to be brought in.
The village of Spivakivka was less affected, but the locals are still struggling to recover from the occupation.
“Both villages lost a significant part of their population. In Zavody, for example, there were about 400 people until February 2022, and now there are just under 50. The population of Spivakivka has almost halved. We could not leave the residents of these villages alone with their problems, so we assisted them,” - in the Denys Paramonov Foundation noted.
