January was a very productive and effective month for the Denys Paramonov Foundation. Here's what we managed to do last month.
The medical area of the Foundation's work was extremely productive. For instance, we donated 120 thousand UAH to Kharkiv City Pediatric Polyclinic № 23. This includes three dental compressors and a steam sterilizer for the dental department. All the donated equipment will significantly improve the quality of medical services at the clinic. By the way, the purchase of these expensive devices became possible thanks to the “Donate to Hospitals - Drive a Bentley” project, in which philanthropist Denys Paramonov donated his own luxury car to charity, which raised more than 2.7 mln UAH to assist hospitals.
In addition, in cooperation with our partners, we provided various medical equipment to more than 50 hospitals from different regions of Ukraine: Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Vinnytsia and Kyiv. All healthcare facilities received consumables, wheelchairs, dozens of boxes of shoe covers and various medicines, as well as washing machines and dryers to facilitate the hospital staff's laundry.
Due to the support of Denys Paramonov Foundation and SMK Group, a free boxing club SMK-SPORT has recently opened in Kharkiv. An experienced trainer, master of sports Ruslan Holovenko, trains children here and will turn them into champions. All classes are absolutely free.
It is worth mentioning the pupils of the rowing section in Bila Tserkva who went to the Carpathian Mountains for training. The trip was completely financed by the Denys Paramonov Foundation. During the training camp, the children will be able to acquire new sports skills and have a good rest, as the mountains will be the best place for this. The children who went to the Carpathians free of charge attend a rowing section opened under the Foundation's patronage at the Kyivsky Meat Processing Plant sports complex of SMK Group.
A reading corner appeared in the House of Culture of the village of Horkoho with the help of the Foundation. On its shelves are the books «Following Skovoroda Path. Slobidska Ukraine» and «Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko: from Osnova to Kharkiv» published at the initiative of the Foundation. Besides, there is a wide variety of literature: from fantasy to children's poems. It should be emphasized that the shelves of the reading corner will be replenished with books from the personal collection of philanthropist Denys Paramonov.
Within the program “100 Books for 100 Libraries of Ukraine”, the Romny Library in Sumy Region received books published with the financial support of the Foundation. We are talking about 500 coloring books “Fortresses of Slobidska Ukraine” and dozens of books about Hryhorii Skovoroda and Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko.
In addition, we assisted in restoring broken houses in the Saltivsky and Kyivsky districts of Kharkiv. In addition, we paid attention to a local school, where a bathroom will be repaired at the initiative of the Foundation.
Finally, our attention was drawn to the Kharkiv State Scientific Library named after Korolenko, which suffered a lot: windows were shattered and even the plaster on the ceilings fell off. Due to the Foundation's support, the library will be completely renovated and a city subscription will be opened. This will significantly improve the conditions of visiting the library, both for visitors and for the library personnel.
