The final month of spring brought many positive initiatives to life, thanks to the meaningful efforts of the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation.
As always, much was accomplished within the framework of the HEALTHY programme. For instance, the Foundation provided specialized medical furniture for the X-ray operating room at the Cardiology Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This support will ease the workload for medical staff and enhance comfort for patients. Notably, last year the Foundation purchased medical equipment worth 500,000 UAH for the Cardiology Center, and this latest contribution of medical furniture marks the final stage in fully equipping the facility’s X-ray unit. Additionally, the Foundation supported the organization of a scientific conference aimed at improving cancer treatment. The event took place in Kharkiv at the Hryhoriev Institute for Medical Radiology and Oncology. The Foundation allocated 27,000 UAH to help cover organizational needs and awarded a prize to the best speaker. The Institute continues to receive valuable equipment and grants for its doctors from the Foundation on a regular basis.
The Foundation continues its citizen training initiative in the basics of tactical medicine. Nearly 500 individuals have already completed the courses launched by the Foundation, led by experienced instructors from the EAST Tactical Medical Center. In addition, the Foundation helped install specialized doors at State Emergency Service (SES) facilities in the Kharkiv region — a step that significantly improves safety and working conditions for local rescuers.
The Foundation also supported 20 families in the Kharkiv region who have suffered as a result of the events that began after February 24, 2022.
May was also full of sports-related activities. The SMK Fishing team, supported by the Foundation, took part in the Ukrainian Street Fishing Cup held in Kyiv — a modern and fast-growing urban sport where the goal is to catch the biggest fish within city limits. The team performed successfully, and their expertise was highlighted during a training session in which they caught a 40-kilogram catfish.
Football club ‘NIKA SMK’ has made a strong start to the 2025 Kharkiv Region Football Championship. After four rounds, the team from Bohodukhiv holds the top position in the league table, having secured three consecutive victories. The club’s president is philanthropist Denys Paramonov.
Athlete Artem Brantsyra, actively supported by the Foundation, once again delighted fans with a series of impressive results: one first place, one second, and two third-place finishes at the European Cossack Fighting Championship. He also earned two silver medals at the ICO Kombat Martial Arts Championship of Ukraine. Meanwhile, boxers Hanna Okhota and Khrystyna Yushchuk completed a training camp in Koncha-Zaspa — a key step in their preparation for future competitions. Both athletes represent the ‘SMK-SPORT’ boxing club, which is funded by the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation. Another SMK-SPORT athlete, Yuliia Stupakova, won a silver medal at an international boxing tournament in Hungary for youth and juniors. This was Yuliia’s first international tournament of such scale, and she secured a medal on her very first try.
Rowing competitions were recently held in Bila Tserkva at the initiative of the Foundation. Participants from the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions competed in kayak, canoe, SUP, and Dragon Boat races. Athletes from the local rowing school — which is fully funded by the Foundation — delivered an outstanding performance. The school’s young rowers also received new equipment and modern Dragon Boats for training and competitions. Last year, thanks to the Foundation, the rowing school’s facility underwent a complete renovation. In addition, the Foundation supported the All-Ukrainian Wakeboarding Competition, which also took place in Bila Tserkva. Athletes competed in various categories, including an adaptive class for people with special needs. Sports unite and inspire — and that’s why the Denys Paramonov Charity Foundation continues to actively support and develop sports initiatives.
The Foundation also initiated a tournament in Sumy in memory of Matvii Kolesnyk — a young boy who passed away last year from a serious illness. He was a student of the ‘SMK-SPORT’ club. Matvii’s teammates honored his memory by earning a series of victories during the competition.
In addition, young boxers from the ‘SMK-SPORT’ club secured prize-winning places at the Kharkiv Region Championship. The Foundation also provided full support to the ‘Avangard’ Youth Sports School in the Hrebinky community of Kyiv region. Young athletes received various sports equipment, including balls and goal nets, significantly improving training quality. Meanwhile, dancers from the ‘White Rabbit’ studio won the Grand Prix at the international festival “Shine of the Nation.” These young talents from the village of Shchaslyve represent the ‘SMK-SPORT’ club, which is fully supported by the Foundation.
In the cultural sphere, the Foundation contributed to the creation of the book “Kyiv: Past and Present.” This publication is set to become one of the most significant works in preserving the cultural heritage of the capital for years to come. The book is a photo album featuring rare and unique historical photographs of Kyiv.
